So recently I found out that TAM Beauty (Makeup Revolution/Freedom) won’t confirm any of their products as vegan, including their palettes. Now I’m sure I’m not the only cruelty free bee out there who used them as my go-to for high-end palette dupes but now I’m vegan, they are a complete no go.
I did a bit of research and tried to find a vegan equivalent of Makeup Revolution but I had no luck. Unfortunately none of Urban Decay palettes are vegan either so I felt kinda like giving up to be honest! After many days of looking and looking I finally came across a palette that looked promising.
I had never heard of Blinc before but turns out they are Logical Harmony approved (which is always the first thing I look for). I found them on Beauty Bay and did a bit of googling and turns out they have a few vegan products. This palette included! It had every shade I wanted, I used a lot of neutrals and brown/oranges in my Makeup Revolution palettes so I needed those for sure.
I absolutely LOVE the pigment in these burnt orange colours, a little goes a long way and it blends wonderfully. For my daily “natural look” I use Gypsum as my base colour as it’s a really pale pink and perfect for mattifying my lid. Then I go in with Moonstone around the crease for definition and finish off with a bit of Sienna or Terra to darken the corners.
If I’m going for a heavier look then I use Amber all over my lid, and then Sienna around the crease and Terra again in the corner. The colours build really well which makes this palette really versatile as a day to night kind of palette.
Unfortunately Obsidan doesn’t come out as a dark as it looks in the pan, it’s more of a dark grey than a jet black which is disappointing but I don’t use black very much anymore so it’s not a deal breaker for me. Also Hyaline isn’t very pigmented at all BUT its shimmer is gorgeous, it’s perfect for an inner corner and under the brow highlight which is mainly what I use it for.
All in all I LOVE this palette, it’s exactly what I needed to replace my Makeup Revolution ones, unfortunately it wasn’t cheap but at £34 it’s slightly cheaper than the non-vegan Urban Decay Naked anyway. I never finished any of my old palettes completely either so I don’t think I’ll be replacing this one for a long time!
If you are on the hunt for a new/replacement vegan eyeshadow palette then I highly recommend this one, I bought mine off Beauty Bay but it’s not always in stock so you can also buy it from their website.
